Can Persian Kittens drink milk

We have 2 Persian kittens and initially when I got the kittens I tried giving them milk. After watching many cartoons I guess I thought that cats like milk. This was what cats in my village were given to drink. But it went down very badly with my kittens.

To answer the question can Persian kittens drink milk, no question – kittens cannot drink milk and should not. Read below why you should not give your Persian kitten any milk.

Cats don’t have the enzymes to digest the sugar in the milk. An enzyme called lactase is needed to digest lactose present in the milk.

Kittens have the enzyme, while bigger cats don’t. For bigger cats and kittens this lactose is left in the gut which ferments and makes the cat have indigestion stomach ache, and also loose motions.

This is why the cat should not be given milk, however, cats like the flavor of cream.
